DynaFlex - Packaging Design and Photography
Brisbane Packaging Design - DynaFlex Australia
Say hello to DynaFlex, the latest addition to our client list - and how exciting is this!

DynaFlex Australia, based in Brisbane, are launching a range of wrist and arm muscle strengthening aids for sport players. These are officially endorsed by Australia's very own cricketing super star Andrew Symonds, but can be used by players of most sports.

We have been engaged to develop the packaging for the range of DynaFlex power balls and the project includes a photo shoot with Roy. (I might have to bring our rather unsuccessful indoor cricket team along for some secret coaching sessions)!

We're truly thrilled to be involved with DynaFlex Australia. Welcome onboard.

Another new client from outside of our home town Brisbane! Our fame is definitely spreading!

We would like to welcome Xenico, a wholly Australian owned company to our rapidly growing client list. Based in Melbourne, Xenico import and distribute lamps and bulbs to electrical wholesalers, lighting stores and hardware stores.

Xenico have asked us to design new packaging for their range of products and we are happy to accept the challenge to create a range of packaging designs that will leap off the shelves (not literally) and help reposition and grow the Xenico brand.

With our own aim to make our company as environmentally friendly and aware as possible, it is a great to be involved with a client with specialised "green" products and to make customers more aware of the benefits of using Xenico's products through the packaging we create.

Nomis Catalogue
Ok, so we are sorry. There's nothing worse than promising something and then not delivering is there?!

We know we said that shots of the Nomis catalogue were coming soon, but truth be told, we're so busy with new and old clients it's hard to find the time to show it off.

A classic catch 22, but one of course we don't mind having.

So, to prove that we actually did the catalogue, here's a sneek peek. We will add some more photos soon - but no promises on when this time!

Oceania Trade Link Branding
BrandingOceania Trade Link are Australia’s leading importer and distributor of homewares and kitchenware and we were recently chosen to develop their new identity and branding. The project also includes stationary and a new sparkling website - but more on that later!

Above you can see the chosen new logo design. The brief was to develop a contemporary and modern logo that reflected the company - without using any usual cliches for links, global and trade, and not to use anything kitchenware specific as the company will shortly be expanding to offer additional products!

We therefore designed the logo to consist of many separate components that all link together visually to create a whole shape - this was to reflect the nature of the company, importing and distributing a variety of individual products.

We, and more importantly, the client love this new direction, but we want to know what you think too!

State of Origin Posters - 2
Regular readers may remember our recent posting showing off the Nomis State of Origin posters we produced (including organising and art directing the athlete photo shoots, artworking, retouching and production).

While we and Nomis love the outcome, this wasn't the first direction we developed. Our original concept was to try and capture the passion of the State of Origin and highlight the divide that appears between NSW and Queensland. It really is like a sporting war and we wanted to reflect that in a campaign titled "Show your true colors".

So, sometimes good ideas don't make the cut but we thought it would be a good insight into the design process to show how we conceptualise an idea for presentation.

As you can see below, working quickly and roughly we are able to create a mock-up poster design that allows us to visually demonstrate the direction and discuss the campaign concept through with the client.

Quick News Update!
It's been a little while since our last news post, so apologies to all our regular readers, who've been madly complaining to us. Well in fact no-one has complained, apart from my mum, so does that count?

Our recent search engine optimisation is working wonders and we are getting lots of new business enquiries. When the ink is dry on the contracts we will let you know more. Needless to say we are really excited about our new clients and the work we are about to undertake.

The Nomis catalogue has also been finished and printed so we will get some some shots taken and post shortly. It's a lovely addition to our Our recent print design portfolio.

Our web design portfolio is expanding too with a couple of great projects underway. Again more news this week on that.

Another area of recent activity is in online marketing for some of our clients. It's always good to get clients coming back to you time and time again. It tells us that we are doing something right!

So, sorry, this is a post with no pictures, but we'll fix that up later this week - I promise.

Nomis Booklet

We've recently designed and produced customisable booklets and informaton packs for Nomis. Another piece of print design that we love, not just for the design but also for the functionality it provides the client.

The booklets are designed to act as a pocket-sized sales tool, consisting of individual "postcards" which are drilled and joined by a bronze screw in the corner. This allows for Nomis to quickly and cost effectively customise the booklets to their day to day requirements and allow for easy updates and new page additions.

We've got lots more work underway for Nomis, including a 24 page print catalogue and brochure currently at the printers! More information and pictures coming soon.

State of Origin Posters
State of Origin
We've pulled out all the stops with this one. Nomis are an official licensee of the State of Origin series and have launched a special edition series of football boots to coincide with the series.

We have devised a campaign titled "show your true colours" and we will be designing material to support this as the weeks unfold.

Our involvement started with the organisation of the athletes, Willie Mason and Michael Crocker, and the respective photo shoots which we art-directed. We have some fantastic shots, courtesy of Brisbane photographer Damien Bredberg.

Then just 24 hours from the photography being completed we have designed and completed instore posters and point of sale which will be on display on Wednesday to coincide with the first game in the State of Origin Series. Usually we would spend a little longer on the concept creation but due to player availability we had to pull out all the stops.

For the initial poster please click read more below and keep an eye out in your local sports store for our poster designs for Nomis.

Email Marketing
Are you considering email marketing? Not sure where to start?

As we have recently been receiving a lot of interest in our email marketing service we have put this little article together to show off some of our recent email newsletter designs.

An effective newsletter design is not just a great big ad for your business or your products. It should include information of interest and of value to the recipient, whether or not they use your services or buy your products.

Why is email marketing so popular with our clients? Well, because:

- It is much cheaper than other forms of marketing
- It offers a high return for a relatively low investment
- It can be delivered instantly and at a set time on a set day
- It lets you send your message direct to your target audience
- It's easy to track
- Full reporting allowing you to see how effective your newsletter has been
- Most people check their email regularly
- Automatic subscribing and unsubscribing capabilities
- And we do great designs too!

Of course, we like to think we do a good job for our clients and below are some examples of recent email campaigns we have created. We've even had a little bit of industry recognition for some. Of course, we prefer the praise from our clients for delivering great campaigns but a pat on the back from them is also appreciated!

Our Nomis newsletter has been featured in the Campaign Monitor Gallery and here's what David Greiner had to say about it:

"The design team behind Nomis have been at it again, this time with a fantastic looking monthly newsletter. We featured their launch email design a few months back and we're equally as impressed by their newsletter design.
As well as promoting their own products, the newsletter also includes a competition, customer feedback and an interesting concept called the 'control freak' scheme. This unique program aims at getting the customers themselves to contribute to the design direction of future products.
Cool concept and cool newsletter."

Here are some more recent newsletters we have produced for our international clients:
